#3. Oregon Growers Pumpkin Butter

Finally, a pumpkin product I can heartily endorse. Oregon Growers' Pumpkin Butter, which I purchased at World Market for $2.99, is wonderfully smooth fragrant spread. Its mildly sweet, strong pumpkin taste is heightened with the addition a bit of spice in the form of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Although one can certainly eat this butter from the jar, I suggest affixing it to the following carbohydrates: pancakes, muffins, scones, bagels, and English muffins.  Since I had none of the aforementioned, I 'settled' on sliced Italian bread, lightly toasted. For the ultimate sweet-savory contrast, layer pumpkin butter atop regular butter; be sure to add generous schmears of each.

Then, announce to your lurking cats: "I'll have my butter with butter, please."
